Bio
I have been painting for over 12 years, experimenting with the limitless possibilities offered by watermedia: watercolors, water crayons and pencils, acrylics and collage. I describe myself as "all over the place" as I move through a wide variety of approaches and methods. My subject matter spans from representational to the purely abstract; much of my work is abstract naturalism. A studio painter, my work is prompted by photographs I take on my travels and daily walks. Endlessly attracted to the shapes and colors of nature, I hope my paintings share my emotional response to the beauty and fragility of our natural surroundings.
I have no formal training, but have benefited from the mentorship of many artists in community classes and workshops. Over the last eight years I have received 11 awards for my work exhibited at the Gainesville Fine Arts Association gallery and community venues.
