Artist Bio
I am a painter working primarily in large-scale acrylic and mixed media. My work often begins with close observation of trees, terrain, and familiar landscapes, but quickly becomes an intuitive, physical process of layering, scraping, disrupting, and rebuilding. I’m interested in how images--like our lives--evolve through time, pressure, and experimentation rather than careful planning or polished finish.
In the studio, I work openly and responsively, allowing marks to accumulate and sometimes be buried or reworked. I’m drawn to the moment when a painting feels most alive—when energy, uncertainty, and structure coexist—and I often choose to stop there rather than over-refine.
Visitors to my studio will see works in progress alongside finished pieces, a range of materials and tools, and a glimpse into a process that values curiosity, risk, and presence. I look forward to sharing how these paintings come into being and inviting people into the ongoing conversation they represent.
About the Studio
My studio is in the historic Vidal Building in downtown Gainesville. Please note, visitors must climb one flight of stairs to access my studio. The space is large and well-lit, with seating, high ceilings and wood floors.
What to Expect
I will work on several paintings live during the studio tour. Visitors are welcome watch me work and talk with me about my process.
