Bio
I have been a practicing artist since the early '70s. My work has been exhibited nationally at diverse venues (a resume will be made available to visitors). I have worked in many drawing / painting / printmaking media. I had taught at several Universities in my work career. My current work, which draws momentum from a series of serigraph editions produced under an AIR grant over 35 years ago, is concieved by a somewhat random selection of imagery, kind of like free association. Words and images / patterns are combined in a way that almost creates a visual gameboard for viewers to interpret. My watercolors, though very precise, are anything but traditional. The concepts blend humor, irony, political commentary, allegorical appropriations, and occasionally, bad puns. The work is meant to initiate a conversation with the viewer.
