Artist Bio

Inspired by 20 years of weekly trips to our local springs, Jane Medved playfully paints on canvas, wood, cork, and unconventional materials. She also creates eco-art with palm bark, feathers and other natural materials.


In her formative days as an artist in New York City, Jane served as Consultant in Ceramics to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and owned a clay studio, school and gallery in Brooklyn. Her artwork has been displayed at The Metropolitan Museum, Brooklyn Museum, and Museum of Arts and Design, as well as Montana’s Yellowstone Art Museum.

About the Studio

Jane Medved paints “nature and human nature” from her two-story studio in downtown Gainesville. Designed to match the Duckpond neighborhood’s historic architectural style, the studio hides behind privacy fencing and trees.
