Artist Bio

I make functional ceramic work that explores the relationship between form, surface, and everyday use. My pieces are meant to be handled and lived with, drawing inspiration from urban environments and the textures and patterns found in textiles.

Working with both wheel-throwing and slab-building techniques, I use a warm red stoneware clay covered in a white slip and decorated with polychromatic engobes. I work from a small home-based micro studio, where limited space encourages thoughtful choices and hands-on problem solving. My goal is to create functional objects that feel good to use and fit naturally into daily routines.

About the Studio

My studio is a working ceramic space located in my home. Though compact, it is intentionally organized to support wheel-throwing, surface decoration, glaze and slip mixing, and electric kiln firing. Visitors will see finished work, works in progress, and the tools and materials that support my day-to-day ceramic practice, offering an honest look into how the work is made.

What to Expect

During the studio tour, I will demonstrate my ceramic process throughout the day in my home-based micro studio. Visitors will be able to watch live wheel-throwing and slab-building demonstrations, depending on the stage of work, as well as see trimming and surface decoration in progress.

I will also show examples of work at different stages—from raw clay to bisque and finished pieces—to explain how form, slip, and polychromatic engobes are built up over time. I’ll talk through my workflow, studio organization, and the ways I adapt traditional ceramic techniques to a small, efficient studio space. Visitors are welcome to ask questions and engage in conversation during the demonstrations.
