Artist Bio
I was born in Gainesville, Florida and have been making pottery on a potter's wheel for over 40 years. Following completion of my BFA at the University of Georgia in 1984, I went to work for my grandfather, Bill Gordy in Cartersville, Georgia. My grandfather was a lifelong potter as was his father and brother. In 2006 I moved back to Gainesville, Florida on beautiful Kanapaha prairie. I make one of a kind wood-fired pottery much of it inspired by the birds around the prairie. I also make pottery jars with wooden lids that I turn on a lathe.
About the Studio
My studio is a 900 square foot cypress log cabin divided between my showroom and workspace.
What to Expect
Visitors can check out my wood burning kiln as well as see a demonstration of throwing on the potter's wheel.
