Bio

I use a variety of techniques to create glass designs to fire in my kiln. I cut the base glass once I have determined the desired size and shape of the finished piece. For some pieces I cut additional glass pieces or use powdered glass to layer onto the base glass before firing. For other pieces I employ pen and enamel ink to draw on glass for a first stage, and embellish with additional ink or other glass pieces in a second firing. All pieces are fired either two or three times and in a final firing they are "slumped" in the mold that achieves the outcome I had planned before beginning. Nature informs much of my design and I draw on my photography for inspiration.
